Badan Warisan Malaysia (BWM) will be organising its third discovery walk in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 5 December. Part of the This KUL City Discovery Walks programme, these walks are held in an effort to foster better understanding of the places and people around us in Kuala Lumpur. Places are chosen based on their historical and heritage value to the city.
Discover Kwala Lumpur will take place near landmarks like Masjid Jamek, Masjid India and also along routes like Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Tun HS Lee. There will be different activities to engage in throughout the routes and it will both start and end at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. The first two walks were held at Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve and Brickfields respectively.
This KUL City is a multi-dimensional programme that will run over the span of 18 months. It is done in collaboration with the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society (MBRAS) as their project partner and Think City Sdn. Bhd. Asides from the discovery walks, there are also a series of lectures and talks that will attempt to engage the participants in discourse on Kuala Lumpur’s past, present and future.
For the latest updates on new dates for the walk, check out Badan Warisan’s website and FB page.
