Erlend Øye is best known for being the tall and bespectacled half of Kings of Convenience. Last year, he released his first solo album in over a decade, Legao. The first Upfront show of the year welcomes the Norwegian musician and his band to The Bee on Monday 23 March.
Kings of Convenience made their mark with a breezy brand of folk, always staying just the right side of twee. For Oye’s solo show, expect the same vibe of melancholy sunshine, but with added influences of reggae and retro lounge pop. Prepare to dance adorkably.
8pm, Monday 23 March at The Bee, Publika. RM98 pre-sale; RM128 on the door. Open to ages 18+ only. Find out more here.
