How long would it take to walk the length of Peninsular Malaysia? According to David Atthowe and Yusep “Pesuy” Sukmana, 58 days. The duo, known as Nomadic Lion, started walking from Tanjung Piai in Johor on 10 January, and plan to complete the approximate 1100km distance in 58 days, finishing in Kaki Bukit. While walking the length of the peninsular is a new record for Malaysia, the Brit and Indonesian nomads walk for another purpose: The Borneo Project. Nomadic Lion hopes to raise awareness and donations for the project, which works with local NGO’s and communities to promote the conservation of Borneo’s natural ecosystems and their indigenous and fores-dependent communities. As Nomadic Lion walks along their peninsular route, they plan to meet as many people as possible, and will be relying on local hospitality, sponsors and travel advice.
