Started back in 2003, Starlight Cinema returns for another week long movie fiesta at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club Paintball Field this week. As Malaysia’s largest outdoor cinema, it promises you a night of “movie magic under the stars”.
You can see a movie at Starlight Cinema from 13 June until 21 June. Doors open at 6pm each night with movies starting at 8pm onwards, featuring different themes like Weekend Double Fright Night Special and Batman Trilogy Special across the week. Some of the movies scheduled to be shown are Pacific Rim, World War Z and The Sound of Music.
But as romantic as it sounds to watch a movie under the stars, let’s face it: there’s a reason that we don’t do it more often. In order to avoid grass stains, insect bites and other discomforts, here’s our checklist of things to bring:

Picnic mat
Good for covering the ground so you won’t get unnecessary stains when you sit.

Small foldable / portable chair
If you’re afraid of getting your butt sore by sitting on uneven and bumpy ground, the chair makes perfect sense.

Insect repellent
Your shield against those pesky bugs and mosquitoes.

A picnic / snacks
Bring your favourite movie snacks and drinks to keep your tummy satiated throughout the show.

Wet wipes
To wipe down those sticky fingers after all that munching. Also, in case the portaloos leave you high and dry.

Umbrellas / ponchos
With rainy days upon us, it’s best to be prepared. Watching a movie while you’re drenched isn’t fun.
Asides from the movies, there will also be a beer garden, flea market and food carts to add to your movie experience. Tickets are priced at RM10 for weekdays and RM18 for weekends.
