Art murals which interact with their surroundings are no longer a rare sight in Malaysia – largely thanks to the popularity of Ernest Zacharevic’s street art. Now a shopping mall has decided to fill its space with 3D art murals with a project called Artsphere 20/8ty.

Located at The Atmosphere, a new “commercial lifestyle development” project in Seri Kembangan, Artsphere 20/8ty is the work of 20 artists who have collectively produced 80 artworks which now cover the entire area of the mall. The project was helmed by lead artist, Haze Long of Art Misfits.

The artists hail from various backgrounds and professions with graffiti artists, graphic designers and fine artists working alongside each other.

Walking through the mall, you’ll find artworks with a touch of local accent and even those ranging from an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole (Shien Shim) to koi fishes seemingly swimming along the walkways (EAVES).

Visitors are encouraged to actively explore the surroundings and take photographs with the numerous artworks. They can then submit it to The Atmosphere’s ongoing Strike a Pose Contest, with the chance to win prizes.
