Start planning your holiday because the annual MATTA Fair is back this weekend. As usual, there will be a range of deals for domestic as well as international travel and tour packages. The 39th MATTA fair will be held from 13 – 15 March 2015 at the Putra World Trade Centre, from 10am-9pm.
This year’s travel fair will see an increased focus on domestic tourism, as the Malaysian government aims to boost the local economy. There will be over 1000 booths, around 450 which will be for travel within Malaysia.
“Focusing more on domestic tourist destinations will help give a boost to travel agents who have suffered a drop in domestic product sales in the past few months,” said MATTA Fair Chairman S. Jayakumar.
If you’re planning to venture to PWTC, be aware that not all advertised prices will include surcharges and airport tax. If you don’t fancy the crowds and queues, look out for online deals from various airlines instead, which usually coincide with the MATTA Fair weekend.
Entry tickets to MATTA Fair are priced at RM4 per person, and children below the age of 12 can enter for free. Parking rates at PWTC are RM3.50 for the first hour, and RM2 for every subsequent hour. Purchase your tickets online and redeem them on the day of the event at the Online Redemption Ticket Counter, located on Level 2 of PWTC.
