Malaysians have been gaining a big taste for comedy, with stars like Russell Peters booking sell-out shows here. Now, a new comedy festival – LOL Fest – kicks off on 27 July, bringing in a range of international comedy talent.

As well as familiar Malaysian comedy names, we can look forward to acts such as Alex Calleja from Manila, Singaporean improv group The Latecomers and New Zealand’s comedian magician Jarred Fell.

The festival offers four full days of specially produced and curated shows by a total of 35 comedians from all over the world. The list of not-to-be-missed highlights includes a seven day Laughter Exhibition that features artworks from various artists on the theme of “Laughter Makes The World Go Round”.

Covering a vast form of genres, from Japanese comedy, bilingual comedy, comedy magic, improvisation comedy and stand-up comedy, the festival will finish with a 6 hours Laugh-a-thon. One of its kind, the final show promises 6 hours of abs-aching laughter.

Happening across several spots in Publika from July 27 until August 2, tickets to shows ranges from RM40 to RM120 will be available during the event and Ticketpro Malaysia. So have a laugh! Its good for you health.
