The 6th annual Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards (KLPA) culminates in an exhibition this August with the top 50 winners and finalists picked from a total of 1300 entries. The exhibition will be held at White Box @MAP, Publika, 12 – 24 August. Admission is free and the gallery is open daily from 10am to 6pm.

An awards ceremony will be happening on 16 August. There are three categories for this year’s competition with three winners each. Prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the Poskod.My People’s Choice Awards.

Alongside the exhibition, the Two Mountains Joint Cultural Photography Project between Malaysia and Japan will be running concurrently. This is a separate exhibition featuring six photographers, three each from the respective countries whom have been commissioned to create a personal photo essay based on Mount Fuji and Mount Kinabalu.

Other highlights happening during the 16 and 17 August weekend will be the Two Mountains Joint Photo Project talk and presentation whereby all participating photographers will be in attendance. There will also be a presentation by Exposure+3 participants and talks by Kenny Loh of Born In Malaysia and Kong Yen Lin from SIPF.
