palatepalette

Yesterday, the restaurant-bar and venue Palate Palette announced that it would be closing. Many of their regulars – including us – are sad to see it go. Since Palate Palette opened seven years ago, it’s been a alternative hang out spot in the city: its low-key vibe and quirky decor made a welcome change from some of the more garish, tourist-touting bars in Bukit Bintang.

Palate Palette has also hosted a variety of events, often with a community spirit of supporting the arts: film screenings, live music, Rainbow Rojak disco nights and more. Located on Jalan Mesui, Palate Palette was one of the businesses to spot the potential of this (previously quiet) side street, which has since burgeoned with trendy eateries like Feeka and Limablas.

Palate Palette’s final day of operations will be on 1 June. Join them for a final drink, and send your favourite memories and photos to [email protected].
