UK band Foals will be performing in Kuala Lumpur for the first time next month. The indie favourites will take to the stage at KL Live on 4 March for the first of 2014’s Upfront Arena gigs.
Foals hail from Oxford. The band was formed in 2005 by a group of longtime friends who started out playing house party gigs. With an upbeat mix of math rock and post-punk, they soon stood out from the more progressive genre of bands among their peers.
It wasn’t long before Foals were spotted by and later signed with with Transgressive Records. Their debut album, Antidotes, was released in 2008. Since then they have also released Total Life Forever (2010) and Holy Fire (2013), with their latest effort nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
The band are now riding high, having found more international recognition with some extremely catchy tunes. Holy Fire’s lead single “Inhaler” made its way to #20 on Billboards’ Alternative Songs chart. In 2013, Foals took home the award Best Live Act at the Q Awards and their single “My Number” was voted Best Song of 2013 by readers of NME.
We’re looking forward to seeing them get the floor moving with their irresistible hooks and indie rock anthems.
