The Freedom Film Festival runs from 7 – 15 December at venues around Malaysia. The annual film festival screens short and feature films on the subject of human rights, justice, equality and democracy.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the screening of The Act of Killing, an award-winning film about alleged war crimes committed in Indonesia. Other featured films include Tanpa Wajah, a Malaysian film about courageous women who have contributed to female empowerment, and Shattered Peace, a film about the Lahad Datu invasion and its impact.
