Have a story to tell? Fixi Novo is seeking submissions for a trilogy of Southeast Asian anthologies: Heat, Trash and Flesh.
This trilogy marks a first for the publishing house, inviting submissions from across the region. The theme of each book may be interpreted in multiple ways, but the stories must be set somewhere in urban Southeast Asia.
Writers are to submit a story of about 2000 to 5000 words in English or translated into English and can be either of fiction or creative nonfiction, including drawings and photo essays. The deadline is 31 August.
Multiple entries are allowed but entries are to specified to which of the three anthologies they are being submitted for. Pieces that have been previously published can be welcomed as well if the writer holds the right to publish them. Each accepted author receives USD100 and retains copyright of the story.
The trilogy will be launched at the London Book Fair in April next year. The editors of the collection are Dean Francis Alfar, Khairani Barokka, Marc de Faoite, Cassandra Khaw, Ng Yi-Sheng and Angeline Woon.
Submit your entry as a Word attachment to [email protected], together with your name and a short biography of not more than 50 words.
