At George Town Festival in August 2014, #BetterCities is staging the final instalment of its interactive exhibition, The Living City: a collective experience of creating a city using Lego bricks. Before the festival, there will be a two day Masterclass workshop led by the Danish-Icelandic architecture studio, KRADS. This is the first time KRADS is leading a workshop in Southeast Asia.
At this workshop on 16-17 August, KRADS and 15 selected participants will be taking a closer look at car parks. If car parks are here to stay, how can these areas better respond to the urban fabric? How can they be part of a denser, more varied and lively city? Lego bricks will be used as thinking tools.
The Masterclass is made possible with the support of The Embassy of Finland, Kuala Lumpur and George Town Festival. #BetterCities is currently running an Open Call for participants (open to architecture/urban planning students and young professional from Southeast Asia). The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 29 July 2014.
