There’s nothing nicer that settling down for a cuppa with a good book. The nice people at Novels for All seem to agree, because they are on a mission to spread mini libraries in cafes across KL and PJ.
Novels for All aims to encourage reading in communities while raising money for underprivileged children. Proceeds from sales of their second hand books go to the Divine Mercy Boy’s Home in Kepong and also towards sending books to a school in Nepal.
As well as setting up these small libraries, Novels for All will be holding a Book Swap at The Bee in Jaya One on 16 February from 2pm to 5pm. The Bee is supporting the cause by giving away RM5 vouchers to the first 40 customers who come to swap books this Saturday.
So bring along a few of your unwanted books (classics, lifestyle, fiction, non-fiction and travel) and find them a new home. You may just leave with a new book for your shelves, a cup of coffee in your belly, and a warm feeling from doing something for a good cause.
