For the month of Ramadan, Publika and The BIG Group will be hosting a Turkish Food Fair at The Square, from 11 to 26 July 2014. As part of The BIG Bazaar, the food fair will feature various Turkish delights such as Shish Kebab, Lamb Kofta, Tarhana soup, Guvec Stew, Fattoush salad, Turkish coffee and ice-cream.
The chefs travelled to Turkey especially so they could recreate authentic recipes. But as well as Turkish food, the fair will serve a diverse local spread which includes Briyani Kambing, Ayam Masak Pedas and Dodol. All this will be served hot by chefs in a specially designed market installation in Publika’s Square.
Want to take home something special for buka puasa? Ben’s Independent Grocer is also selling a variety of Turkish delicacies from now until the 3 August. Look out for sweet favourites such as baklava and lokum. Customers who spend more than RM100 at Ben’s Independent Grocer will also get a chance to win two return business class tickets to Istanbul.
For a taste of Turkish culture, Publika is screening Turkish films this month and there will also be various arts performances such as a drum ensemble and sufi dance. On 12 and 13 July, an Ebru artist will display his skills in the intricate art of traditional paper marbling. On the 19 and 20 July, you can watch a Turkish Shadow Play that traces its roots back to the Ottoman Empire.
The Turkish Food Fair runs from 4pm – 10pm, Monday – Thursday, and 4pm – 11pm, Friday to Sunday.
