It’s January, so you’ve probably already signed up for an unrealistic programme of fitness at your local gym, before abandoning just a few days later. At this time of year, it’s hard to avoid the resolutions to get fit and exercise more. But if you’re looking for an alternative to the usual exercise regimes, why not try going retro with KL Swing?

Not to be confused with an underground experimental sex group, KL Swing is all about learning vintage dances like Swing and Lindy Hop. The group runs weekly social dance nights on Tuesday evenings at Sid’s in Bangsar South. The pub takes on a speakeasy vibe with 1930’s jazz music, while newbies are welcomed with free guidance on classic steps.

After a free taster class, you can also sign up for different dance courses run by the group. So as 2013 kicks off, why not put on your dancing shoes and take a hop and a skip back through time?
