Qing Ming Festival (alternatively spelled as Ching Ming) is also known as Tomb Sweeping Day or Pure Brightness Festival, an annual occasion when many Chinese families will gather at their ancestors’ graves to remember and venerate those that have passed on. The festival falls on 5 April this year but families will visit in the weeks before and after this date too.

Graves are tended to with food offerings laid out for their ancestors. Aside from the usual spirit money, families also burn paper replicas of material goods in the hopes that their ancestors will be able to receive them and live comfortably in the afterlife. This is where the festival has taken on a more noticeably modern twist in times with gadgets and other luxuries like designer handbags on sale for Qing Ming festival.

The latest “Samsong” phone and lots of bling, as well as a Chanel look-alike clutch bag and the keys to a BMW.

And of course you’d need a bag to carry all your essentials around! Monogrammed and top of the range – Louis Wuitton perhaps?

In the afterlife, no one can nag you to stop smoking. Here are a range of brands.

Not forgetting the tech savvy, an “apple” laptop computer. Hopefully wifi is fast in the afterlife.
