Biawak Gemok, a distributor of zines, will be at Art for Grabs.

For its latest edition, Art For Grabs will be teaming up with Sisters in Islam to share women’s stories and opinions on work, culture and the economy. On 12 – 13 September at The School (Jaya One), join the arts bazaar for local vendors, thought provoking talks and performances.

Highlights of the upcoming Art For Grabs include a discussion on sexism in Malaysian films, a talk on work-life balance for mothers, and a forum on what women want from the economy.

Filmmakers can also look forward to a challenge from the Very Bad Film School, where participants make a film in less than 48 hours (with guidelines by Woo Ming Jin and Zan Azlee) and then the final films are screened on the last evening of Art For Grabs.

As usual, you can also shop from a range of independent arts and crafts stalls. You’ll also be able to swap your old books thanks to Subang Jaya Book Exchange.

12 – 13 September, 12pm – 8pm.
