Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) is returning this year from 13 – 15 March with a few treats up its sleeves. For one, the festival is expanding to three days to cater to every EDM and Hip Hop fan’s needs. They will also be moving their venue to Bukit Jalil for the first time!
Day 1 kicks off on Thursday 13 March with Deadmau5, Adventure Club, Rehab, Will Sparks, Bate, Breaking Diamonds, Double E and Eva T.
Day 2, Friday 14 March is the highly anticipated A State of Trance. If you attended the one last year, you’d know that it was an EDM fan’s wet dream. ASOT includes Armin Van Buuren (pictured), Paul Van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Andrew Rayel, Marlo and Omnia.
Day 3, Saturday 15 March, is where the big guns come out to entertain. Featuring Pharrell Williams, Knife Party, Chase and Status, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Yuna, Martin Garrix and many more, it’s sure to be a party to remember.
Livescape, the organizers, are expecting approximately 85,000 attendees and tickets are almost sold out. They’re now on their third release of tickets, with a single day pass priced at RM208 and weekend pass at RM388 and they recently mentioned that it’s almost gone. Once that happens, their fourth release will have you selling your liver (RM248 for day pass, and RM428 for a weekend pass).
Bukit Jalil is an unexpected choice of venue. But festival director Iqbal Ameer says it’s been carefully thought through. We reckon that traffic will not be as insane as it would’ve been if it were held in Sepang or Mines. There are three highways and an LRT right at the door of Bukit Jalil.
According to Iqbal, the LRT will also be running later than its usual schedule to accommodate those of us who don’t wish to drive or cab back.
There will also be an app to make planning your day much easier. It’s said to be out by the end of the month, keep up with them on their Facebook page.
