Carmen Souza, one of the acts confirmed for this year’s Penang Island Jazz Festival.

This year is Penang Island Jazz Festival’s 11th year running and it’s already grown to be an established festival for music lovers from all over the world. The jazz festival has a line-up of many talented musicians, spanning three days (4 – 7 December) at Batu Ferringhi in Penang.

This year’s festival will be hosting musicians such as Grammy nominee Seth Glier (USA), Richard Bona Group (Cameroon), Carmen Souza (Portugal), Fresh Dixie Project (UK), Laila Biala (Canada) and many, many more.

The festival will also include a variety of workshops for attendees such as Island Music Forum Sessions, which will be conducted by the Director of the Salford Music Research Centre at University Salford of UK. If you’re a musician yourself, you can also enjoy daily jamming sessions.

The festival is not for another month, but you can get a taste of the festival with a pre-show party at Laundry Bar, theCurve, on Saturday 22 November. The lineup for this show will be Sheila Julis, Bihzhu, VIV Adram, Northern Jazz Unit, JUNK and FAZZ and Roger Wang.

You also stand a chance to win tickets to the festival itself, so don’t miss out if you’ve been wanting to attend this show.

Tickets for Penang Island Jazz Festival are on sale and available for purchase via Ticket Pro and its authorised outlets.
