After scrapping a tour of Asia back in October 2013, President Obama has confirmed that he will be visiting Malaysia in April this year, during a tour that also includes Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.

The White House said in a statement that Obama’s April trip will highlight his “ongoing commitment to increase US diplomatic, economic and security engagement with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.”

It is thought that the President of the United States of America will be pushing negotiations on a vast Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact that would include 12 nations.
