Malaysia has confirmed the high speed bullet train project with Singapore set to launch in 2020, with seven stops across Malaysia.

According to a recent report from The Straits Times, the location of the stations will be Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat, Nusajaya and finally, Singapore – either at the city centre, Jurong East and Tuas West.

The travel time from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is estimated at between 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours including other route stops and immigration.

Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, Chairman of Malaysia Land Public Transport Commission, stated that the HSR has already attracted foreign developers and investors from various countries including Japan and China.

With a launch target set for 2020, Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar mentioned that production of the rail is due to start in the third quarter of 2015. We’re certainly looking forward to a fast, alternative route to Singapore!
