Chinese New Year is just around the corner. It’s time for you to prepare your wallets and stomachs for the celebrations, and send greeting cards to friends and relatives.

Especially for this festive celebration, letterpress company The Alphabet Press has printed a limited edition Chinese New Year greeting card called ‘The Chinese Village’.

The oriental print in red and blue has a playful yet historic touch to it, highlighting the traditions of the New Year – returning to your kampung and celebrating with family. The Chinese characters “dong dong qiang” represent the drums and cymbals of the lion dance.

The Alphabet Press is known for their modern letterpress designs. Their aim is to revive this old form of printing, including the labour intensive method of producing each print by hand. Although the process may be time consuming, the end result will be one-of-a-kind.

For the Chinese Village series, Alphabet Press has used 100% cotton paper. The cards were printed on Heidelberg Windmill 10 x 15, and come with an additional red envelope. The cards are priced at RM16.68 each and are available at Etsy as well as Storks.co, but with a limited run.
