The final #BetterCities Talk of the year will be on Saturday 30 November at the glass lantern lobby of Menara Bata, PJ Trade Centre. The talk runs from 2.30pm – 4pm (entry from 2pm) and is free of charge, with refreshments.

Through this talk we hope to explore how our city is transforming before our eyes, how deprived areas are given a new breath of life which changes its original context but in some cases provides opportunity for community and economic growth. We want to see how these changes have affected the existing landscape and communities, and how we can work towards a more holistic regeneration process.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Lim Take Bane, a conservation architect and member of Badan Warisan.
  • Jeniffer Kuah, business owner and part of AsianageHoldings who are the owners of Food Foundry, Butter + Beans and the new Feeka on Jalan Mesui.
  • Karen Tan founder of Pocket Projects, a creative development consultancy based in Singapore that conceptualises and manages niche urban development projects.
